What inspectors found
- One person told us, "I feel very safe living here and have no complaints.
- Seeing the girls in face masks used to be a bit strange, but these are the times we are living in.
- They want to keep us safe from Covid and other infections, therefore, the masks are necessary, although I look forward to seeing their faces in the future".
- Actions had been taken following the last inspection to ensure people were protected from the risk of the spread of infection.

History with CQC
CQC registration dates from December 2010, so the service has been operating for around 15 years under its current registration.
CQC has published 3 overall ratings for it (2016–2021), starting at Good; it has gone up 1 and down 1 time, and is now Good.
It has gone 5 years without a new overall rating. CQC schedules inspections by risk, so this is not a bad sign in itself, though leadership may have moved on.

Budgeting for this home
We estimate Camowen at £1,460–£1,780 a week for residential care (dementia), based on published prices in the region. Over a year that is roughly £76k–£93k.
Ask whether the fee changes if needs increase, and what is extra: hairdressing, chiropody, outings and newspapers are often charged separately.
If savings are under the upper limit (£23,250 in England), West Sussex Council may pay part of the cost after a free care needs assessment.
