How services get on this list
Ratings may be several years old, so each profile states when the rating was published. No one can pay for, apply for or be nominated for a place.
Services are listed when the Care Quality Commission (CQC) gives them an overall rating of Outstanding. CQC is the independent regulator of care in England, and we take its ratings as published in its register. The county shown is that of the service's nearest town on The Care Panel. When we import new ratings the list changes too: newly rated Outstanding services join, and any that lose the rating drop off.
