From the latest CQC inspection
- We received positive feedback from people and their relatives who told us they were happy living at Kensington care home and with the care and support they received.
- People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests, the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
- However, some people's care plans and records relating to best interest decisions didn't reflect this.
- Medicines were administered safely however, some records regarding people's medicines were not always completed effectively.

What it may cost
We estimate Kensington Care Home at £1,400–£1,720 a week for nursing care (dementia), based on published prices in the region. Over a year that is roughly £73k–£89k.
If nursing care is needed, the NHS pays a weekly NHS-funded nursing care contribution directly to the home, whoever pays the rest.
If savings are under the upper limit (£23,250 in England), North Yorkshire Council may pay part of the cost after a free care needs assessment.
