Attendance Allowance: what it means
A weekly benefit of £76.70 or £114.60 (2026/27) for people over State Pension age who need help with personal care. Not means-tested.
It is paid at the lower rate for help during the day or the night, and the higher rate for help day and night, or for someone who may have 12 months or less to live. Savings and income do not matter. It can also increase Pension Credit and Council Tax Reduction.
