Who pays for overnight care?

Attendance Allowance at the higher rate (£114.60 a week) is not affected by savings and goes to people over State Pension age who need help both during the day and at night. Families often turn to night care after a hospital stay, when falls at night start to happen, when dementia breaks up sleep, at the end of life, or so that a partner who cares all day can sleep through a few nights a week. Some book a night or two each week; others book every night.
