What CQC's inspectors reported
- However, the service was being supported by an interim manager who was in the process of implementing an action plan ,to improve quality assurance processes and health care partnership communication.
- In the meantime, the provider was carrying out a recruitment process for a new registered manager. Quality assurance processes relating to call bell system audits were not always effective in identifying issues with the system alerting staff to people’s needs in a timely way.
- Healthcare partners highlighted barriers around communication that had the potential to impact on peoples care delivery including when changes to people’s medication were made.
- People said they received good quality care from knowledgeable staff who treated them as individuals.

Budgeting for this home
We estimate Norden House at £1,660–£2,030 a week for nursing care (dementia), based on published prices in the region. Over a year that is roughly £86k–£106k.
Where a resident needs nursing, the NHS pays part of the fee straight to the home as NHS-funded nursing care, regardless of who pays the rest.
If savings are under the upper limit (£23,250 in England), West Sussex Council may pay part of the cost after a free care needs assessment.
