Costs to expect

We estimate Windward House at £1,370–£1,680 a week for residential care (dementia), based on published prices in the region. Over a year that is roughly £71k–£87k.

Ask whether the fee changes if needs increase, and what is extra: hairdressing, chiropody, outings and newspapers are often charged separately.

If savings are under the upper limit (£23,250 in England), Devon Council may pay part of the cost after a free care needs assessment.
