Choosing a provider
A registered specialism means the provider has told CQC it supports people living with a physical disability; it does not tell you how much experience its staff have. Ask how many current clients have similar needs, what training carers receive, how they keep the same small team, and how they handle distress or refusals. Then read the latest CQC report, not just the rating.
More to ask:
- Will two carers be available when two are needed?
- Are staff trained in moving and handling, including hoists and slings?
- What equipment do you provide, and what must we arrange?
