CQC registers the care service that works in each scheme. Some providers run care in several schemes from one registered office. Source: CQC register of active locations, October 2026.

How to get a place

  • Through the council: ask West Sussex council for a care needs assessment. Many extra care flats are allocated by the council or a housing association, often with priority for people with care needs.
  • Directly: some schemes sell or rent flats privately. Contact the scheme or its landlord.
  • Paying for it: rent and service charges can often be paid with Housing Benefit or Pension Credit. Care is charged separately and means-tested, but the home you leave is not counted for care at home. See paying for care in West Sussex.
