From the latest CQC inspection
- We found the following examples of good practice. ● Staff had supported a person with a learning disability to understand about COVID-19, why staff needed to wear PPE and why they needed to be tested.
- They used picture cards and pictorial symbols as well as British Sign Language (BSL) to help them to understand. ● On their arrival at the home, visitors were screened for symptoms of COVID-19, were required to complete a lateral flow test and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- This ensured visits could take place safely in line with current guidance. ● People were supported to go outside every day to local parks or for a local drive and a hot drink in order to keep people active and to support their well being.
- Increased art and craft activities were also offered to people. ● Staff had completed training in hand washing and how to don and doff PPE correctly.
